GA4 workflow

Investigate mismatches between GTM and GA4

Compare configured events, GA4 key events and recent reporting before deciding where to investigate.

A practical sequence

From inspection to a documented next action.

01

Confirm the pairing

Check that the selected GTM container maps to the intended GA4 property. Record the lookback period and account permissions.

02

Compare the three lists

Manually, compare GTM event-tag names with GA4 key-event settings and recent event reports. ODDVX brings these views into one read-only comparison.

03

Explain the exceptions

Not every event should be a key event. Dynamic event names may be unresolved. GA4-derived events, Measurement Protocol, other containers and server-side sources can explain events missing from this container.

04

Verify before changing

Allow for reporting delay and low traffic. Use Tag Assistant and browser evidence to investigate a suspected mismatch, then change the relevant system deliberately.

What the result meansA mismatch is a finding to investigate, not proof of a broken conversion. Premium supports up to 10 scheduled runs per day while ODDVX is running and the computer is awake and online. Missed runs are skipped; this is not cloud monitoring.
