GA4 workflow
Review the rules behind a GA4 key event
Check whether the event definition still matches the client’s measurement plan.
A practical sequence
From inspection to a documented next action.
01
Agree what should count
Document the intended user action, event name and qualifying conditions. Distinguish a lead submission from a visit to a form page.
02
Inspect the current rules
Review the relevant event definitions and key-event settings in GA4 or ODDVX. Compare them with browser evidence from an authorised test.
03
Preview a correction
Review proposed configuration changes and their target property. GA4 changes apply directly after confirmation; there is no publishing workspace.
04
Verify future collection
Check new events and subsequent reporting. A configuration correction does not rewrite historical reports.
What the result meansUse read-only inspection first. Grant edit access only for an authorised correction.
